What is happening in the world today?
I wrote this article months ago and dumped it somewhere, but seeing the recent happenings surrounding this sensitive topic, I couldn’t hold back anymore.
Rape is the penetration, no matter how slight, of the vagina or anus with any body part or object, or oral penetration by a sex organ of another person, without the consent of the victim.
The term “Rape” originated from the Latin word “rapere” (supine stem ratume) which means to snatch, to grab, to carry off.
Since the 14th century, the term has come to mean, to seize and take away by force.
There goes background information for those who think RAPE occurs as a result of the victim’s immoral dressing. If that is so true, what then will you put the blame on, for the children who are constantly getting molested by sick paedophiles? Their skirts too short? Are their titties also hanging loose?
My heart bleeds each time I come across terrible ordeals of rape and violence towards children. Recently I’ve been stumbling on, at least, two cases of child sexual abuse every single day. It’s everywhere, it is always everywhere.
When you wake up in the morning, it’s on your screens, in the newspapers, headlines, even in your neighborhood or at your very doorstep. You see it everyday so it’s hard to ignore, impossible to miss.
Children as young as two, constantly sexually tortured and severely bruised by psychopaths who have either lost the appeal for mature sexes or are mentally/spiritually disturbed. They never take a day off, do they?
How can any sane human being, man or woman, be turned on by toddlers or think sexually of them to the point of sticking out their private organs and forcing or coercing them to have sex? Are we now living in a world of ignorance that we accept these demonic affairs and are even shamed by it?
A number of these acts are immediate.
Meanwhile, most of them last for days, weeks, months, even years.
The victim is thoroughly abused and stripped of whatever dignity left in him/her.
Most times, the abusers make use of their hands, belts, canes, sticks, whips, chains, hot water, blades, and even knives, etc to carry out their evil pleasures and ensure complete persuasion and submission of their victims.
A huge number of the victims don’t survive the ordeal. Some die in the process, during the act or they end their lives later on as a result of depression caused by fear, guilt, disgust, rejection or hatred. Or all of the mentioned. You have not the slightest idea what these children pass through in the hands of these barbarians.
For the ones who manage to survive, their abusers threaten to harm them or their loved ones if they as much as let out a word of the ordeal. Then the poor victims proceed to live with it for the rest of their lives.
Can you just imagine the terror and trauma that follows suit? The silent cries in the dark, the severe injuries, nightmares, isolation from others, adapting harmful lifestyles/hobbies as a coping mechanism; smoking, alcoholism, prostitution, BDSM, and so many others.
99% of these victims are too ashamed and afraid to report to a higher authority. They end up harboring a dangerous level of guilt in their hearts for the rest of their lives. The feeling of being unclean, used, not worthy of giving or receiving love, not good enough for anything. This destructive mindset is the reason some of them end up in toxic friendships, relationships and marriages.
During those years, they drown in self hatred, self harm, little or no self esteem, shitload of insecurities, violence, encouraging more physical/sexual abuse from either sexes or engaging in molesting someone else just to be on the other end and feel what it’s like to inflict pain on others.
Victims who are courageous enough to expose their abusers don’t ever acquire the justice they so desperately yearn for. Sometimes, the abuser is arrested and put in jail for a short time only to be released to roam again, visit his clueless relatives and tell their children to sit on their thighs while they’re given a snack. It is nearly impossible for a female abuser to be sentenced to serve jail term in a country like Nigeria.
Then, the initial victims are criticized and ignored to wallow in the stigma. The stigma of being a rape victim. This is saddening, terribly saddening.
If a phone thief can be beaten and burned to death on the streets and a mother, who steals foodstuff in the market place so her children can eat, is stripped naked and humiliated, and if a fraudster who makes away with several millions, is locked up in jail to rot away, why do people just shake their heads in pity and go on with their businesses when a child, male or female, is raped?
Don’t we understand the gravity of the crimes being committed against these poor innocent children? Their lives are destroyed, forever. They can NEVER forget.
Are our eyes laden with soap that we can’t see this? Who is going to lead us tomorrow when all our children are getting raped and traumatized? Support the movement, today. Protect our children.
